So now that my rant is over, let's talk about what you will be able to do in this sim. Let's start with the most obvious first. You will Design and build your own Space Station. If you are a space nerd. Then you will like to know that all the various modules for the space station have been developed from actual plans designed by various space agencies including NASA, the Russian space agency, Japanese space agency, the Canadian space agency, and the European space agency. This is with out a doubt one of the many reasons for the authentic feel of the technology in the simulation. You can take these modules and assemble them in many different ways; just like in real life your station takes a design appropriate for your goals. This lets you play and replay many times building different stations to your hearts content. On to your flight crew or to some people your astronauts. As with your space station you are able to customize your astronauts to better reflect the skills you need for your mission. The more you work with the astronauts, the more activities that they are able to learn how to do on their own. So you have to train your astronauts to do whatever tasks you want them to do. The crewmembers allow you to manipulate their food intake, exercise and sleep schedule. So you must balance these for our intrepid travelers, which is harder then it sounds, and problems with these seemly basic functions can have very bad side effects, just like you would expect it would have. Also your astronauts will interact with each other on orbit, which allows for the dreaded personality conflict or conflicts to happen which can be disastrous as anyone of you who manages people like me knows. Some of the task that you will find yourself leading your astronaut through is as follows. You will help them do mundane tasks like system maintenance to more life treating tasks like altitude adjustments also know as keeping you from falling out of the sky. Now let's talk about how you will do all this. To build modules for your station, you will use your resources from the various countries. These resources will also allow you to do research on various topics through out the game. Hopefully you will plan your space stations design overall so you have some kind of overall plan before you just launch module after module with no plan. Since I brought up modules, I think that I should mention how surprising it was when I looked at the module choices; I was suspecting maybe 10 or fifteen modules. I did not count how many there are between space station modules and sub-modules like robotics research and so on, but there are many more that I was expecting. Once you have started your station you will have to supply it with the obvious consumables for a space station. You will also have to do research to expand your knowledge. This research has practical benefits including pleasing you're many political backers. The goal of this game is to acquire 999 flags. However you should not let that stop you, you can keep adding on to your station as long as you want. Also this game is very repayable with so many modules to add and so many different traits of astronauts. To sum up this game if you want to experience the most realistic Simulation of what it would be like to be the head of the space program, like myself. Then this game is for you. The fact that it was made in cooperation with NASA and has good music for an actually educational game doesn't matter to you. For everybody who is not one of us buy the game and maybe you will find that you are more like us than you thought. Here are the system requirements:
You can own your very own copy of this great simulation for $29.99 Right now at there online store. What are you waiting for? You can also give the game a test drive, try the demo HERE. Since I looked at this game Vison Video games released a update to the game. So if you all ready have bought it download the the update and give it a try. |
